First of all lets know few words about Job in a Bank

Bank jobs are currently among the most in-demand jobs in India. More than 20 lakh aspirants generally appear for exams every year conducted by IBPS and various banks such as Reserve Bank of India (RBI), State Bank of India (SBI) and private banks(all taken together). These banking exams can give you jobs in RBI, SBI (and their 5 associated banks), 21 nationalised banks, 54 Regional Rural Banks (RRB), 20+ private Indian banks, select foreign banks and a large number of small to medium co-operative banks along with gramin banks at the clerical, PO (Probationary Officer) and SO (Specialist Officer) levels. Vacancies in banks are set to reach nearly 7.5 lac's in the next 5 years, since banking jobs are appearing lucrative in times of an economic slowdown.

These bank exams conduct a written exam (which include Reasoning, Quantitative, English, Current Affairs and Computers) and shortlist the candidates for further rounds. Shortlisted candidates then go through rounds of group discussion and HR/personal interviews.

Statement and Conclusion Practice Exercises for Exams

Statement and Conclusion

Statement and Conclusion Questions are asked in all competitive exams like Banking Exams/ SSC/ Placements/ UPPSC, generally these questions are asked in Reasoning Section of the exam. Actually the number of questions of this type varies from exam to exam, example- in IBPS (PO and Clerks) they do ask only 5-10 questions with varying standard but in case of SBI (and its Associates) they ask nearly 20-25 questions.

These questions does not require any grammar or vocabulary skills, they do require only reasoning skills. Many students stuck at these questions as they are unable to understand the question properly or else they are unable to get the proper conclusion from the given statement, and thus they get out of the competition without scoring good marks. So we have decided to provide some useful information regarding this Statement and Conclusion type Questions, and we are sure that you will get benefit from this tips.

In this type of questions, some statements are given followed by some inferential conclusions which can be derived from the given statements. You are required to consider the conclusions and then decide which of them logocally follows beyond a reasonable doubt from the information given in the statement. Such questions are asked to test your ability to derive correct inferences from the given pieces of information. The most important aspect of such questions is nature of conclusion. Some of the conclusions can be easily and quickly detected because these follow directly from the facts stated in the statements. The pieces of information given in the statement clearly supports the conclusion. But sometimes conclusions may be indirect. In such cases it becomes very difficult to decide the validity of conclusion.

A conclusion will follow, if

1) It is implied in one or all of the pieces of information
2) It is a generalisation of the ideas given in the statement
3) No material fallacy is committed, viz.,
      a) Fallacy of composition
      b) Fallacy of division
      c) Fallacy of uncritical analogy
      d) Fallacy of accident and
      e) Fallacy of insufficient data

Each question is given a statement followed by two conclusions numbered I and II. You have to assume everything in the statement to be true, then consider two conclusions together and decide which of them logically follows beyond a reasonable doubt from the information given in the statement.

Give answer (1) : If only conclusion I follows.
Give answer (2) : If only conclusion II follows.
Give answer (3) : If either I or II follows.
Give answer (4) : If neither I or II follows.
Give answer (5) : If both I or II follows.

What is the difference between an essay and a paragraph?

An essay is a formal writing sample of a given topic composed of multiple paragraphs. The largest difference between the two types of writing is that the essay usually involves more preparation work. Traditional essays involve five paragraphs, in which the first serves as an introduction and includes a thesis statement- a critical idea that defines the purpose of the paper.

The subsequent paragraphs develop and explore the thesis through the use of evidence and analysis in its explanation . The concluding paragraph summarizes the findings that have been presented in the essay and has proven the thesis statement in a lucid and reasonable manner. There will be disagreements on the outline of it, but traditionally this is how an essay breaks down.

By contrast, a paragraph is shorter and by virtue of this does not have as many requirements. There is a topic sentence to open the paragraph that defines its purpose and the remaining sentences in the paragraph serve to support and enhance that topic sentence. If you want to think of it in a comparative way, the topic sentence is the thesis statement of a paragraph. The development of a paragraph can lead to an essay, and normally, this is how good essays begin. Different teachers have different belief systems on it, but roughly, I think this is what is meant by the difference between an "essay" and a "paragraph."

In Simple Words:

►An essay is made up of paragraphs. Essays are focused around a central idea that are broken up into sub-ideaS which are written in paragraphs.

►A paragraph is made up of 5 to 6 sentences, and has a topic sentence with sentences that support it. An essay on the other hand is longer, made up of multiple paragraphs. An essay is drawn out and has multiple topic sentences and proof to support it.
